The luxurious resort of the Club Méditerranée
Located 112 miles north of Acapulco,
between the Sierra Madre and the Pacific Ocean, built in a tropical
park, Ixtapa Pacific is one
of the most beautiful villages of Club Méditerranée.
It has the atmosphere of a family hacienda and shows the whole Latin-America
exuberance.
Designers Marc Hertrich and Nicolas Adnet, who renovated the old
building dating from 1982, have done a good job.
With a quasi Mediterranean climate, in a secluded bay, this place
offers the spirit of club Med (friendly and multicultural) as well
as a contemporary design inspired by Mexico.
The colorful buildings, with terra cotta tiles copy the architectural
style of the country with many arches, balconies, pergolas and Spanish
style ironworks. The orange and ochre colors contrast with the palette
of greens from the luxuriant vegetation.
Facing the Ocean stands a white building recalling the Californian
villas. It houses the restaurant El Encanto which offers five dining
rooms with different themes. You have your choice of the green interior
garden, the planetarium with cosmic references on the walls, the
masks room with a glamour touch delivered by velvet chairs and golden
decoration and a quirky mirrors room with shimmering puzzles.
All the furniture and decoration objects are made by artisans from
Guadalajara. These artisans
already worked for the renovation of the village of Cancún.
At the other end of the village, a white hut houses the Luna Azul,
a small scale restaurant (40 seats) with an atmosphere of intimacy
and a delicious and inventive cuisine.
Dedicated to families, the new Ixtapa Pacific gives priority to
comfort. All club rooms and family suites are equipped with quality
facilities: flat screen TVs, Internet access, mini-bar regularly
filled up... From 4 months to 14 year old, the children are pampered
in suitable structures.
