A one way flight ticket Morelia-Mexico city costs at least $2000 while a bus ticket (302 km/194 miles and 4h) costs $360 in 1st class and $300 in second class. To think about it !

By bus : The "Central Camionera", with three new buildings, is located at the northwest of Morelia, in front of the Morelos stadium. There is Terminal A for 1st class buses, Terminal B for second class buses and Terminal C for local destinations. There are lockers and restaurants. Take the combi n°1 from San Francisco Church that leaves every 10 minutes to the Central Camionera. The many colectivos allow exploring the city for about $5. The tourist guide of Morelia, available at the Tourism Office, lists the different "Rutas" as well as the different cultural events of the city.

Terminal A : More of thirty daily buses leave to Mexico Poniente (West) with ETN from 1:30 AM to 11:59 PM. Fare in 2010 : $360 one way/ 4h.
5 daily buses to Mexico Terminal Norte with ETN, from 1:45 AM to 5:30 PM, same fare. There are also many buses to Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, Querétaro (7 daily) , Guadalajara (12 daily), San Luis Potosi, San Miguel de Allende, Zacatecas with ETN as well as Chihuahua serviced by Omnibus de Mexico (MXN$1000, one way in 2010 to Chihuahua). Omnibus de Mexico also services Querétaro. ETN serves Uruapán 9 times a day, MXN$140. ETN (443) 315 57 52, OMNIBUS DE MEXICO (443) 31 61 468. The group Estrella Blanca also services the north and south of Mexico from Morelia, 01 800 507 5500 or from Mexico City (55) 57 29 08 07. this tramway allows visiting the historic center from plaza de armas from 9 AM to 7 PM, except on Mondays. Departures every 30 min for a 45 min, 80 min or 2h tour depending on the chosen road. Reservations at the Tourist Office.

There are 3 daily buses to Mexico Terminal Norte with Primera Plus and a dozen buses with Autovias to Mexico Poniente (OBVS). There are also some buses to Guadalajara and San Miguel. There are many buses to Morelia, Urupuán and the villages of the area.
Rates for 2010 : MXN$341 to Mexico Obs or Norte, MXN$43 to Morelia, MXN$278 to Guadalajara, MXN$284 to Toluca and MXN$177 to Querétaro (night bus).
Take a combi from Plaza Bocenegra to go to the Bus Terminal ($5). The combi is the best way to go to the small villages around the lake as well as to the south of Pátzcuaro.
