Maya to Cozumel,
the Carnival of Cozumel
and the Day of the Dead.

02 -09 march 2011 : Carnival of 
An old tradition resumes : the pilgrimage to Cozumel island
to worship the goddess Ixchel. Since June 2007, Xcaret park
has been organizing the crossing of the channel to revive
the Mayan tradition. It was a moving experience. The pilgrims
built their canoes with the traditional methods and trained
for crossing the channel to Cozumel and making an offering
to Goddess Ixchel.
