The state of Quintana Roo offers many festivals, such as a jazz festival, the crossing of the channel with traditional canoes from the Riviera Maya to Cozumel, the Carnival of Cozumel and the Day of the Dead.

02 -09 march 2011 : Carnival of Cozumel (QR) -


19 may - 21 may 11 : An old tradition resumes : the pilgrimage to Cozumel island to worship the goddess Ixchel. Since June 2007, Xcaret park has been organizing the crossing of the channel to revive the Mayan tradition. It was a moving experience. The pilgrims built their canoes with the traditional methods and trained for crossing the channel to Cozumel and making an offering to Goddess Ixchel.

29 june 10 - The whole country celebrates Peter and Paul’s Day : music, dances, floats parades, especially in Cozumel island (QR).

13-17 oct 10 - Second edition of the short films Festival in Playa :

30 oct-02 nov - Every year, the Vida y Muerte Festival in Xcaret organizes a festival of life and death traditions in Mexico : or - Fantastic festival !

25 nov-28 nov 10- International Jazz festival in Playa del Carmen :
