The state of Quintana Roo offers many festivals, such as a jazz festival, the crossing of the channel with traditional canoes from the Riviera Maya to Cozumel, the Carnival of Cozumel and the Day of the Dead.

Carnival of Cozumel
06 -12 March 2013 : Carnival of Cozumel (QR) - - Tba for 2014.

13-16 March 2014 : Cancun-Riviera Maya Wine & Food Festival. The second annual Cancun-Riviera Maya Wine & Food Festival runs from March 14-17 in Riviera Maya. Italian, Massimo Bottura, and Mexican, Enrique Olvera, head a line-up of celebrity chefs from Europe and the Americas : www.crmfest.com.

23 May - 25 May 13 (tba for dates in 2014) : An old tradition resumes : the pilgrimage to Cozumel island to worship the goddess Ixchel. Since June 2007, Xcaret park has been organizing the crossing of the channel to revive the Mayan tradition. It was a moving experience. The pilgrims built their canoes with the traditional methods and trained for crossing the channel to Cozumel and making an offering to Goddess Ixchel.

29 June (every year) - The whole country celebrates Peter and Paul’s Day : music, dances, floats parades, especially in Cozumel island (QR).

First week of october - Second edition of the short films Festival in Playa : . Dates to be confirmed for 2014.

30 Oct-02 Nov - Every year, the Vida y Muerte Festival in Xcaret organizes a festival of life and death traditions in Mexico : or -  Fantastic festival !

Last week of november - International Jazz festival in Playa del Carmen : . Dates to be confirmed for 2014.
