By plane : the international airport
"El Bajío" (BJX) is located 40 km (25 miles) west
of the city on the road to Silao. It is common to the cities of
Guanajuato, León and San Miguel de Allende (110 km or 68

Take a bus, a colectivo or a taxi to reach the Bus Terminal of the
Jardin Unión or the Plaza de la Paz (bus with the sign "Centro");
the bus fees are MXN$4. The travel Agency "Faustro", Calle

By plane : The International airport
"El Bajío" (BJX) is located 110 km (68miles) from
San Miguel west of the city of Guanajuato on the road to Silao.
It is common to the cities of Guanajuato,
León and San Miguel de Allende. There are several daily
flights from Mexico City : Aeromexico
- 6 daily flights -
(477) 441 1420/1421/1422/1402, and to the other Mexican airports
via the capital of the country.
It is linked to several American airports such as Dallas, Houston,
Miami, New-York and Los Angeles with the company Aéromexico
and the American companies such as Continental, American Airlines
and Delta Airlines have several direct flights.
 
The recent opening of the international airport of Querétaro
(QRO), located only 70 km (44 miles) away, allows choices between
this airport and BJX. Aeromar
offers 4 flights a day - Querétaro/Mexico City.
Continental operates a direct flight to Houston with connections
through the USA. Aeromexico operates
from QRO to Mexico City and all of Mexico. Aeromexico
offers a direct flight to Los Angeles.
In our opinion, unless you come from the U.S.A, it is better to
drive or take a bus from Mexico City,
for the beauty of the landscape as well as for your purse.
