By bus : three bus terminals.

1st Class Terminal with the companies ADO, UNO and Cristóbal
Colón : it is located at the crossing of avenue Insurgentes
and Pan-America Road. Eight daily buses to Mexico
Tapo (13h ride with ADO GL, from $850 to $1056 in 2010) and
8 to Mexico Norte
(from $850 to $1,070 with ADO or OCC, in 2010). The cities of Oaxaca
(3 daily buses : 11h ride), Veracruz (3 daily buses : 7h ride),
Cancun (4 daily
buses; 18h ride), Puerto
Escondido (2 daily buses : 11h ride), Campeche
(1 daily jour : 10h ride) and Villahermosa (2 daily buses : 7h ride)
are serviced by these companies.
The cities of Chiapas such as Tuxtla,
Comitán and Tapachula and the site of Palenque
are also serviced by many buses a day. To go to Agua
Azul, ask the driver (road to Palenque)
to drop you off at the crossing and then take a taxi.

from San Juan (crossing Honduras
and Lázaro Cárdenas de San Cristóbal).

Ecotourism in Chiapas
SendaSur is an information and reservation center. The office is
located in the city of San Cristóbal.
It was created by different community ecotourism centers as well
as travel agencies and tour operators specialized in ecotourism.
The mission of SendaSur is to supply them the services of promotion,
diffusion, commercialization and reservation. This center keeps
a mode of communication and a collective support in order to represent

to and from Montebello. At the entrance of the park, the minibuses
go either to the north or the south of the lakes. Get information
when leaving.
Bus to Tuxtla : direct
bus with Transportes Tuxtla Gutiérrez, blvd Dr Belisario
Dominguez Sur # 90, every 30 minutes from 4 AM to 8 PM.
Bus to Palenque
thru Las Nubes, Yaxchilán
and Bonampak : it is a long 8h trip to Palenque
by minibus (the same minibus as the ones to Montebello). It is a
nice road along the Guatemala border.
If you go to Yaxchilán,
get out the bus at Crucero Corozaland take a colectivo
to the pier. Take a lancha ($140) to reach Yaxchilán.
If you go to Bonampak,
get out the bus at San Javier Crossing. You will be 2 km from the
entrance of Montes Azules Reserve (take a combi) and then 9 km to
the site (take a taxi : $90 or a bike : $70).

All the buses to the archaeological site of Palenque
arrive in the village of Palenque
and not in the site. Take a combi (transports Chambalu) from the
vllage to the archaeological site (8 km), every 10 minutes from
6 AM to 6 PM (both ways).
The different bus terminals (1st and 2 nd class) and the combi terminals
except the transports Montebello (1 km further) are all located
300m apart). Bus to Comitán via Bonampak,
Yaxchilán and Las Nubes : long 8h trip by minibus (the
same ones as the buses to Montebello).
It is a scenic road along the Guatemala border Departures with Company
ADO to Mexico, Campeche,
Mérida, Cancun,
Villahermosa, Tulum and Oaxaca.

Bonampak
and Yaxchilán
The combis of Rio Chancalá and Chamoan link
several times a day Palenque
to Frontera Corozal (3h) and Benemérito (4h). If you go to
Bonampak, get
out the bus at San Javier Crossing. You will be 2 km from the entrance
of Montes Azules Reserve (take a combi) and then 9 km to the site
(take a tax : $90 or a bike; $70). If you go to Yaxchilán,
get out the bus at Crucero Corozaland take a colectivo
to the pier. Take a lancha ($140) to reach Yaxchilán. The
best way to visit these two places is by rental car or via a travel
agency in Palenque
or San Cristóbal (See tourist
offices).
